1/01 Run for a Healthy World

Where: Palo Alto Baylands Athletic Center, 1900 Geng Rd., Palo Alto

When: Saturday, January 1, 7:30 am - 11 am

What: Kick in the new year bright and early with this charity 5k/10k! Proceeds benefit World Runners, which supports health, education, and finance programs in Africa. Help out with tasks like registration, t-shirt distribution, course monitoring, snacks table, etc. It is rain or shine, and we recommend you bring an umbrella! 

 

1/03 - 1/14 EHP Toiletry Drive

Where: Gunn

When: Monday, January 3 - Friday, January 14

What: Key Club is requesting toiletry donations (e.g. shampoos, conditioners, lotions, toothbrush/paste, deodorant, etc.) that will be given to the Ecumenical Hunger Program in East Palo Alto. All sizes are accepted, including travel/hotel size. They must be unused and if there's a seal, it must be intact. A collection box will be in the SAC.

 

 

1/08 - 1/09 Friends of the Palo Alto Library Book Sale

Where: Cubberley Community Center, 4000 Middlefield Rd., Palo Alto

When: Saturday, January 8, and Sunday, January 9, 10 am - 4 pm (shifts)

What: Help out at the monthly library book sale--it supports our Palo Alto libraries! They need help in all of their rooms, and you may be assigned tasks like cashiering, organizing books, and helping out with sales. Grab a friend or make a friend--it's always more fun with more people!

 

 

1/22 Save the Bay's Penguin Awareness Day

Where: Palo Alto Baylands

When: Saturday, January 22, 9 am - 12 pm

What: Marshlands play a pivotal role in our biosphere, and by restoring them, you are helping curb the the effects of global climate change. Come out and plant some seeds in the wetlands--you'll be helping out our feathery friends! All tools provided, wear working clothes.

 

 

1/29 January DCM: Mr. Key Club Pageant!

Where: Paly's Haymarket Theater, 50 Embarcadero Rd., Palo Alto

When: Saturday, January 29, 5 pm - 10 pm

What: It's our monthly DCM (divisional council meeting) where we learn about the goings-on around our division, but as an added bonus, it's also a male beauty pageant! So see the best that Division 34S has to offer in terms of the Y chromosome as a contestant from each school competes in talent, trivia, formal wear, swimwear, and more to be crowned D34S's Mr. Key Club. Admission will be $3 (goes to the Children's Miracle Network) and dinner will be sold. Don't miss out! It's super close by and always hilarious! :)
