American Apparel Hoodie Fundraiser for PTP

When: now through October 20

What: Division 34S Key Clubs are selling American Apparel brand sweatshirts (retail $46) for a mere $30! What a bargain! Unisex sizes XS-L are available, and they look like this. All colors are available, except mauve, peppered grey, zinc, slate, and dark ash, and all hoodies have a small white key on the left pouch. You must order and pay before 10/20, checks made out to Lijun Li with your name on the memo line! More info here.

 


10/9 & 10/10 Friends of the Palo Alto Library Book Sale

Where: temporary Mitchell Park Library at Cubberley, 4000 Middlefield Rd

When: Saturday, October 9, 9 am - 4 pm and Sunday, October 10, 11 am - 4 pm (shifts)

What: Be a Friend to the Palo Alto Libraries and lend a hand to their monthly book sales! You would be helping with sales or the cashier.

 


 

10/16 Light the Night Walk

Where: Paly, 50 Embarcadero Rd.

When: Saturday, October 16, two shifts: 1:30 - 4 pm, 6 - 9 pm

What: Light the Night is a community fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It is an inspirational evening of hope for patients and families affected by blood cancers, and it features live music, food, and other activities. The first shift will be setting up everything and making sure everything is prepared for the walk. The second shift will be helping out along the course as participants make their walk.

 


10/16 Gunn Family Day

Where: various locations

When: Saturday, October 16, 9:30 am - 1 pm

What: Gunn's new Community Service Boosters is hosting a Family Service Day in three local locations: San Francisquito Creek, Ecumenical Hunger Program, and Resource Area for Teachers. Join the Gunn students and parents in helping with various tasks. Volunteers are invited to convene for a BBQ picnic afterwards. Find more information and sign up here.

 


 

10/23 Fall Rally North

 Where: Great America, 4701 Great America Pkwy, Santa Clara

When: Saturday, October 23, 10 am - 5 pm

What: Fall Rally North is one of the most spirited events of the year--it invites all Northern California Key Clubbers to an exhilarating day of cheers and thrills at Great America. And even better? It's for a reduced price, just $33! The day features a loud and exuberant rally in the morning followed by a whole day of PGA's famous coasters. You don't want to miss out! 10/23 PAMP Halloween Party

Where: Lucie Stern Community Center, 1305 Middlefield Rd

When: Saturday, October 23, 9 am - 1 pm

What: The Mothers' Club of Palo Alto and Menlo Park (PAMP) annually hosts a delightful Halloween party for its children. Gunn Key Club has been invited to help set up and enjoy the festivities along with the children. This is always an adorable, fun event!

 


 

10/24 Trick-or-Canning Prep

Where: in front of JLS, 480 E. Meadow

When: Sunday, October 24, 2 - 4 pm

What: We will be passing out fliers to spread the word about one of our favorite events of the year, Trick-or-Canning!

 


 

10/31 Trick-or-Canning!

Where: in front of JLS, 480 E. Meadow

When: Sunday, October 31, 6 - 8 pm

What: High schoolers dressing up and asking for candy? Sketchy. High schoolers dressing up and asking for canned goods to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank? Awesome! Join Key Club in our annual canned food collection, where we go around on Halloween night not asking for candy, but for canned food! But we also get candy from kind-hearted neighbors.
