10/01 Great Glass Pumpkin Patch

When:  Saturday, October 1, 9:15 a.m.-Noon, 11:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m., 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Where:  Rinconada Park, 777 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto

What:  We will be helping out the art instructor with hands-on activities and making sure the art station is kept clean.

 


 

10/02 Gamble Garden Community Day

When:  Sunday, October 2, 9:30-Noon & Noon-2:30

Where:  Gamble Garden, 1431 Waverley Street, Palo Alto

What:  We will be helping the artist Judith Selby prepare her plastic bag masterpieces by prepping the plastic bags. Prepping includes cutting and folding the bags.

 


 

10/02 Family Fun International Day Fair

When:  Sunday, October 2, 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Where:  Lucie Stern Community Center, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto

What:  It is a fair where children will be doing arts and crafts and playing games.  We will be helping out with both and making sure that the children have a great time!

 


 

10/08-09 Friends of Palo Alto Library Book Sale

When:  Saturday, October 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Sunday, October 9, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where:  Cubberley Community Center, 4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto

What:  We will be helping out at the monthly FOPAL book sale by helping out in the several rooms.  Tasks include cashiering, shelving, etc.

 


 

10/15 Light the Night

When: Saturday, October 15, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.

Where: Palo Alto High School, 50 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto

What: A walk that raises funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  We help with various tasks such as setting up, sorting out t-shirts, cheering on the participants, etc.

 


 

10/22 Trick or Canning Prep

When: Saturday, October 22, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Where:  Jane Lathrop Middle School, 480 East Meadow Drive, Palo Alto

What: In preparation to our Halloween adventure, we will inform the residents of the houses we are going to on Halloween that we will be there to collect cans and not candy.  We will go around the neighborhood around JLS and stick flyers under people’s doormats.

 


 

10/29 Fall Rally North

When: Saturday, October 29, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Where: Six Flags, 1001 Fairgrounds Drive, Vallejo

What:  Come see what Key Club is all about!  All the Key Clubs of Northern California will be gathering at Six Flags for a HUGE Key Club rally.  There will be period of time when the park is especially reserved for Key Clubbers and we will do our Key Club cheers then.  Afterwards we'll have fun with all the other Key Clubbers on all the exciting roller coasters! Tickets will be $31 before October 7, and $35 day-of.  Added incentive is a wristband that allows unlimited soft drinks.  Funds made at this event will go to Pediatric Trauma Prevention.

 


 

10/30 17th Annual California Avenue District Trick or Treat and Halloween Carnival

When: Sunday, October 30, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Where: California Avenue, between Ash and Birch Street

What: We will be doing activities with babies and toddlers.  We will be making a non-scary Halloween environment for them.

 


 

10/31 Trick or Canning

When: Monday, October 31, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Where:  Jane Lathrop Middle School, 480 East Meadow Drive, Palo Alto

What: It’s a way to go trick or treating as a high school student and not get questioned about it!  We will primarily be going to houses to collect cans of non-perishable foods that they may or may not have prepared for us, but we can enjoy some candy.  All canned foods will be going to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
